Barry L. Bender, 59, Reading, died of natural causes May 6 at 2:09 a.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, where he had been a patient for one day.
He was the husband of Rita M. (Mohr) Bender.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Mary A. (Dietrich) Bender.
Bender had been employed for nine years as a custodian by the Reading School District, last working in 1998.
He is also survived by a son, Barry L. Jr., and a daughter, Tracy L. Bender, both of Reading.
Other survivors include a brother, Gerald A., Shillington; and two sisters, Nancy (Bender) Brennan and Deborah (Bender) Pflum, both of Reading.
There are also six grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
