Barbara Mccane

Barbara A. McCane, 80, formerly of Sinking Spring, passed away on November 30, 2018 at The Reading Hospital.
Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Catherine M. (Mease) Smith.
Barbara was a US Army veteran, serving her country in active duty during the Korean Conflict. Her service included administrative duties while stationed in NY. She was later employed as a Police Communication Operator for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 30 years. Barbara was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Sinking Spring where she served on church council; she last was a church member of the Salvation Army of Reading where she was a devoted volunteer and served in several leadership capacities, most recently welcome sergeant.
She was predeceased by her brother: Bruce Reppert.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 39 years: Richard I. McCane.
A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
