Alberta A. Schmieder, 91, formerly of Reading, died April 5 at 5:50 p.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., Spring Township, where she had resided since June 2001.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Paul J. and Annie M. (Holzinger) Schmieder.
Schmieder was employed for 20 yeas as a sewing machine operator by Gotham Lingerie, Reading, retiring in 1977.
She was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Surviving are several cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
